.htaccess設定でファイルの優先順位を変える

ホームページアドレスがhttp://xyz.com/だとて、そのフォルダ内に
index.htm、index.html、index.cgi、index.php
ファイルを置いていたとすると、
http://xyz.com/index.htm
http://xyz.com/index.html
http://xyz.com/index.cgi
http://xyz.com/index.php
のうちどれが表示されるでしょう？
Web サーバー apachで順番が決められています。
通常はindex.htmかindex.htmlの優先順位が高くなっていると思います。
http://xyz.com/index.php
の優先順位を上げるには.htaccessに

DirectoryIndex index.php index.htm index.html index.cgi

と記述してあげます。
